When I uninstalled Internet Explorer 4 a while back,
there was only one feature that I missed having
around.
That was the Favorites menu embedded in my Start
menu.
The reason that I uninstalled Internet Explorer is
that I prefer Netscape. But I was hard-pressed to
find
any means of obtaining functionality similar to the
Favorites menu with Netscape. That is, until Netscape
Bookie was born.
Netscape Bookie lives in your system tray. Left-click
the icon to display your Netscape bookmarks,
right-click for a configuration menu. You can choose
whether or not to have an icon displayed in the system
tray. If you choose not to show the icon and want to
access the Options, just run the application again and
the Options dialog will appear. When the bookmark
menu
is displayed, right-click an item to display a context
menu of commands for that item.
New Features:
It's been a long, long time but I've finally finished
the next version of Netscape Bookie. And I'm really
happy with it. It has a feast of new options,
including:
- support for Internet Explorer favorites
- support for Opera Hotlist items
- Bookmark Verification - check to see if a bookmark
is still valid
- New colorful icons in all of the menus
- And a whack of other little features and bug fixes
