a new generation of software and efficient database tools

GOSHA Software

All versions of the GOSHA Software have one and the same core structure and common features. These include basic data catalogues and custom sort order that the user can define for two different font sets. One may keep personal, bibliographic and scientific data in any version. The higher the number of the version, the more power it may offer to the user regarding automation and other database techniques.

Version 2.1 adds to the previous versions the advantage of working with and saving automatically with each record one attached file. The file may include formatted texts, pictures, etc. The attached file, if any, is automatically loaded into a special pop-up window, can be edited, and automatically deleted by way of clearing the contents of the window. No additional software is needed to edit the attached RTF files.

Version 2.2 adds to the previous versions the advantage of creating database libraries of unlimited size in attached files, those created in different other programs. The user can automatically save these files to the local hard disk (in the folder where the program has been installed), a floppy, or to the CD-writer. The number of such files (images of book pages, manuscripts, photographs, maps, charts, WS Word or MS Excel files, etc.) can be 20 to 30 thousand per one CD.

In fact, it is possible to store on a private PC data in text and graphic formats on all publications and manuscripts from a big public library. Versions 2.2 and higher allow the user to create unlimited number of hyperlinks to local files, Intranet and Internet sites.

Version 3.0 adds to the previous versions a catalogue of texts, as well as different tools to process text data, automatically create indexes and vocabularies. The number of the resulting vocabulary 'projects' is practically unlimited. They can be saved in a compressed form and downloaded into a special window. This version can satisfy philologists, publishers, students, etc.

Version 3.1 adds to the previous versions the advantage of compiling and having fast access to four permanent vocabularies, as well as the advantage of inputting data automatically into any of these vocabularies.

Version 4.0 and Version 4.1 are similar to Version 3.0 and Version 3.1. They add to the above features the advantage of creating automatic data presentations direct from the database. Such presentations do not create extra files, prints, etc. The user can employ a recorder that will "remember" the current record and work window. The presentations can be edited (time of disposition, comments). This feature can be used for showing pictures, manuscripts, and publications. This may satisfy teachers, students, museums and libraries, etc.
