EASIS Drive Check is a simple powerful tool to check
the health of your hard drives or other storage
devices like flash drives, usb sticks, external hard
drives and more.
Hard drive faults could cause data loss scenarios
which necessitate a data recovery task.
EASIS Drive Check includes two tests to diagnostic
hard drives or media failures in advantage of the
disaster and the need to do a data recovery.
EASIS Drive Check offers two approaches to test media
drives for possible failures.
First you can read out the SMART values of ATA/IDE
hard disk drives and interpret their values. Often you
can decide to change the drive only by reading the
SMART values. But interpreting SMART values can be
only a hint to decide about the drive status because
the values are only snapshots and not complete tests
of the drive.
However, it is impossible to get such SMART values
from other media like usb drives, external hard drives
and some more storage devices.
