Backup is a copy of original database and it plays an
important role in handling the critical situations of
data corruption and data loss. With Backup file, the
users can get data back with originality during
critical situations of corruption or damage. Some
users take database backup to keep a copy of their
original database for safe keeping, some to free up
the data storage space and some to improve the
performance of their systems.
In Microsoft Windows, NTbackup free utility is
provided to take the backup of computer database. This
utility creates the backup file of computer database
with .bkf extension and the backup file can contain
anything like images, videos, sound files, documents,
applications, etc. Though, the backup file is used to
get back the original database in critical situations
of data corruption and data loss but, this BKF file
can also get corrupted. There can be reasons behind
corruption in backup file.
