3D Dreams for Director is an Xtra plug-in for Macromedia Director that makes it possible to include dynamic 3D content in Director movies. 3D Dreams renders the 3D scene in real-time, allowing objects to respond to user input and exhibit unique, autonomous behavior. An integrated 3D authoring tool makes constructing 3D scenes a snap, with full control over every detail. All changes are reflected on the Director stage, for immediate feedback. Once the scene is built, an extended set of Lingo commands can be used for manipulating objects and describing their behavior, enabling the creation of rich, interactive worlds. 3D Dreams takes advantage of hardware acceleration offered by 3D cards and MMX processors. It can be used both for Internet publishing using Macromedia Shockwave and for conventional titles.
