Software for building up and validating hypotheses in research data processing (questionnaires, observation protocols, tests, etc.) ARROW is an integrate package including two main programs able to help data processing by means of a huge exploratory work. The package is particularly suited for working with questionnaires including nominal or ordinal scaled questions. ARROW is not an alternative to the traditional software: instead it is oriented to two special aims: ITEMAX: finds sub-samples, within the general sample, that show frequencies of answer to a certain Item significantly higher (or lower) as compared to the residual frequency. CAUSAL: after having run ITEMAX (both with maximization or minimization option), is possible to verify the existence of 'pseudo-causal paths' among the Items which ITEMAX has found. Arrow come with a series of options and embedded services useful for printing and analyzing data.
