Flange stands for Foreign LANGuage Exchange. It is a chat program that coordinates foreign language students in different countries so that they can practice using each others languages. There are permanent rooms that indicate the students class and fluent language; for example, Spanish2:English indicates that a student is taking second year Spanish and is fluent in English. The program would match English2:Spanish students with the students in this example. Flange is internationalized, and it comes configured for use in English, French, German, and Spanish.
