Sort and Slice allows you to sort and/or reformat Column Delimited files. The program can skip header lines, use regular expression search and replace to modify the contents of specified columns, and sort on multiple keys ascending, descending, or not. The delimiter is configurable and the program has a step-by-step user interface that allows you to determine the correct processing parameters in advance of the sort. You can also remove repeat lines from files and pad fields. Changes are written to a separate file. Multiple files can be processed. The program buffer is selectable. Command line switches and scripts are available to easily manage frequent operations. The program can be used to sort & alphabetize any type of text data that has consistent column delimiting such as log files, text output spread sheet data, stock data, text mail merge lists, etc.
