Abitus 2000 Shareware for Windows is a PIM with fully
customizable Address Book for Contacts, phone dialer,
phone log history and database with user-definable
fields for Inventories, Collections and Notes.
The Abitus UNIVERSAL DATABANK is ready to enter any
type of data, as your personal data, data about your
family, friends, customers, clients, partners,
employees, data about events, dates, anniversaries,
about your collections of books, music, your house,
car, possessions, recipes, tips, and any type of
information you want, without need of a previous
format. Anything you can describe with words has place
on Abitus databank. You can ingress thousands of
different types of records and each record can
contains thousands of fields or links.
The Abitus "LINKING MACHINE" allows you to link any
record with any other record, any record with URLs,
email adresses or any file on your PC.
So, you can link people with friends, contact's
records with company's records, your computer's record
with the dealer's record, with the service's record.
News with sources, ideas with authors, etc. Linking
files you can link, for example, the record of your
house with the photo.jpg, a singer with its song, the
actress with the movie.
The Abitus LAUNCHER runs linked files (JPGs, MPGs,
AVIs, DOCs, HTMs, MP3s, MIDIs, URLs, etc.), programs,
your email client...
The Abitus FINDER let you retrieve a record simply
typing its name or any field content.
Typing a word will list all the records containing it.
The Abitus SCREEN shows records as notebook's pages
with each Field or Link on one Line.
Long fields show their complete contents by one click.
Links are in blue and are showed by double clicks.
If you have a line: Name____John, double clicking on
Name will list all the records with a name, double
clicking on John will list every John on the databank.
If you have a line: Category_____Book, double clicking
on Category will list all the records having Category,
double clicking on Book will list all the books.
Lists are showed as lined Pages too.
The Abitus NAVIGATOR let you explore a la Web, between
pages through blue links.
On a line: Link____Peter, go to Peter's record by
double clicking on Peter.
On a line: File____readme.doc, open the document by
double clicking on readme.doc.
On a line: URL_____www.nasa.gov, launch your browser
on said URL by double clicking.
On a line: Email___smontabo@kagi.com, start a new
message by double clicking.
On a line: Phone___555-5555, dial up the phone by
double clicking on the number.
Do not use poor flat files, complex relational
databases or record-oriented databases with no global
views. Abitus implements Propositional Data Model, a
better way to represent Reality.
It owns a unique and universal data file structure
whose form is independent of your data.
Because there is no need to design, create or modify a
structure, edition can be made in real time: aggregate
new type records, aggregate or delete fields within
one record or make new links. The automatic index
system keep ordered each data unit for fast views and
navigation.
