Performance Sentinel
-
Version
2.8
Performance Sentinel monitors, notifies, and logs the
performance of Windows NT/2000/XP computers. It groups
performance into four major subsystems (CPU, memory,
disk, and network) and monitors the relevant counters
within each subsystem. If a counter exceeds a
threshold value for a period of time, then a
notification can be sent out.
Performance Sentinel is designed like all of our
Sentinel products with an easy-to-use interface of
computers on the left and statistics about the
computer on the right. It doesn't require any agents
to be installed or run on the computers being
monitored.
Its unique feature is that it notifies only when the
average value remains above a threshold for a certain
period of time, not just when it exceeds the
threshold. Notification is done through email, pager,
computer message, SNMP trap, log file, Event Viewer,
or its own log file. It runs as a service without
needing manual monitoring, though it does process
statistics in real time.
