DupeMaster is a utility designed to locate duplicate
files in multiple directories on multiple drives.
Duplicates can be searched for by content match, size
match, name match, or a combination of these options.
Multiple advanced file specifications can be used to
find/filter files, or a simple wildcard can be used.
Once the list of duplicates is found, the files can be
tagged for deletion using various methods, the files
can be launched using the default Windows association,
or they can be copied/moved to another location.
Additionally, and probably the most important feature
of DupeMaster, is it can store file information in a
database that can be used in future scans to find
duplicates.
With the thousands, or possibly millions, of files
added to the Internet each day, it is a nusance to
download JPGs, GIFs, MP3s, AVIs, MPGs, etc. then have
to manually sift through them to find the ones you
already have.
With DupeMaster, you can store the fingerprint of
these files to the database, then next time you
download files, just scan your new files against the
database to locate and eliminated the duplicates.
