6.5g
SimpleCheck is a small e-mail notification program
that resides in the Windows system tray and can
regularly check multiple POP3 e-mail accounts. That
its main purpose. However, SimpleCheck 6.0 has a lot
of features that all big e-mail clients have but in a
very compact package. SimpleCheck doesn't require
installation so you can simply copy it and execute.
All SimpleCheck settings are stored in a file with
scpf extension (SimpleCheck profile). That makes even
easier to move things around.
How does SimpleCheck work?
Each individual mailbox that is stored in SimpleCheck
can have time interval or particular time of a day
when new messages should be checked. When program
detects new messages in any of mailboxes it notifies
you by next possible means:
1. by a selected (. wav) sound or/and
2. by flashing system tray icon or
3. by an always-on-top message box or
4. by starting e-mail client or
5. by popping up its own result window
SimpleCheck has a lot of customizable settings. For
each account you can choose sound notification,
message filters, check schedule, notification sound
and an e-mail client. There are also some global
settings that allow you to change SimpleCheck behavior
when there is no dial-up connection, setup proxy SOCKS
server and specify default behavior for working with
messages.
The new messages can be viewed in a result window that
consists of two parts:
accounts tree
message headers
Message header information
includes "From", "To", "Subject", "Size" and "Date"
fields.
SimpleCheck can also launch your favorite e-mail
program, delete unwanted messages and download one or
more messages into a message preview window. All that
can be very useful to cleanup spam from the mailboxes
before starting an e-mail client. SimpleCheck also
automated filtering system allows deleting, saving and
pop up selected messages.
SimpleCheck can be used to compose and send a quick
reply.
User can have any number of SimpleCheck profiles
(.scpf) with different mailboxes, or with the same
mailboxes but different settings. The profile can be
easily open from the program or specified as a command
line parameter.
SimpleCheck supports secured POP3 and SMTP
authorization: APOP command for POP3 servers and AUTH
CRAM-MD5 for SMTP.
SimpleCheck also has auto dial/hang-up features.
