calcAnt - The Calculator Ant

CalcAnt is a desktop calculator for the four basic
arithmetic operations.
Calculating with calcAnt is quite easy: Enter numbers
and operators using the numeric keypad as you would do
with any pocket calculator. calcAnt will format your
input line by line and will calculate the result after
you have pressed [Enter] or [=].
On the basis of the created list you can verify the
results and, if necessary, revise your input by
positioning the cursor on the incorrect number or
operator and changing it. calcAnt will immediately do
a new calculation.
You may also add text and comments to your
calculations, as in this example:
+ 4,000 # monitors
* 335,000 $ unit price
--------------
+ 1340,000 = subtotal
* 1,160 German VAT (16%)
--------------
+ 1554,400 = total
The whole calculation can be saved just like any text
file and be opened again later (e.g. to drag and drop
a file into the text area).
There are a lot of options to adjust calcAnt to your
personal needs:
You may choose the number of decimal places.
Results can be displayed without having been rounded.
Check "Always on top" for permanent direct access to
your calcAnt.
The numeric keypad can be hidden, thus providing more
space for your calculations.
For all user with more entitlement to features there
is a the highAnt - the Queen of Calculator Ants.
In comparison to calcAnt, highAnt offers a variety of
add-ons. These include:
- Parentheses
- Free definition of variables
- Trigonometric functions
- Several files may be opened at the same
time in different windows
- Hyperlinks and links to other files
- Automatic formatting, e.g. negative numbers are
shown in red, currency formats, date formats
- Conversion of e.g. inch into cm, € in $
- Calculation of a marked area and output as
quick info
- Toolbar
- Printing date
