Lantern networking software allows you to manage your
network, and collaborate with other LAN users in a
very easy and intuitive way:
View in "real-time" all your LAN computers' status
(on or off), hard-drive space, memory usage, and
other
parameters. You may even check many parameters of
your PCs while the machines are turned off.
View your connected computer drives, directories, and
files as if they all resided on the same PC.
Execute programs, or open documents just by clicking
on them.
Automatically backup specified folders on the
connected computers - Set it up once, and the backup
will be repeated at the specified time interval.
Move and Copy files between computers with a
simple "drag and drop" to a directory on the
destination PC.
Send Instant Messages to other LAN users - Choose
your
destination PCs, type a message and with one click
all
selected users will receive the message. They can
respond to you in the same easy way.
Easily plan backup - Set the time when backup should
start, and the interval at which it should be
repeated. Choose the directories that should be
backed
up. Set the order in which the backup should occur.
Lantern will make the necessary computations, and
will
show you if the individual workstations backup will
fit onto the designated destination drive. Also,
Lantern will show the date and time of the next
scheduled backup.
Distribute a file to multiple computers - Select your
destination PCs, and with one click the file is on
its
way to its destinations.
Know what was happening on your network, when your
were not at your PC - Lantern logs important events
occurring on your network. Every event includes a
time
stamp, so that you know exactly when it happened.
Monitor Network in background mode - When Lantern
manager runs minimized in the Windows system tray, it
still informs you about computers status changes.
Includes integrated VNC viewer, allowing complete
control of the networked PCs.
Allows for remote startup of applications and
opening documents.
