EGO
-
Version
3.0
EGO is a personal email server that lets you send
emails directly to recipients. It links the email
application and recipient's mail server together -
this means that the email application and recipient's
mail server talk directly - at just the same second as
the application finishes sending the message, the
message is in the recipient's incoming mailbox.
EGO has the following features:
1. Works seamlessly and directly between your email
application and the receiver's mail server. Unlike
other SMTP servers, which buffer the mails and send
them later, eGo acts as a go-between for the mail
application and the recipient's mail server - the
receiving and sending occurs simutaneously - so you
can know the sending result from your email
application: If the mail application says OK, the
message have already reached the receiver's mail
server, waiting the recipient to check; if it says
something wrong, you know it immediatly - you wont get
a "Undelivered Message Notice" hours later.
2. Reliable security. By default, eGo only accepts
connections from the computer on which it is running.
If you allow other computers to share eGo's service,
you must add that computer's IP address explicitly.
3. Start and Exit quickly. It is a user mode
application, not a system service. You can start it
and quit it as you do with any other user mode
applications, such as your email application or word
processer.
4. Efficient and Easy to Use. It is a Win32
application. The executable file size is only about
105K. The user interface have only four buttons and a
window display server and client status.
