Unauthorized dialers are one of the severest problems
that internet users are facing today. One day,
somebody can get a phone bill and can see that a lot
of costly calls are made from his line without even
his knowledge. This scenario is what the most of the
users, ranging from home users to corporate ones, have
had in the recent days.
To combat with these problems, SpyWare/Adware removal
prorams or sometimes anti-virus programs have been
used though none provided a precise protection. Evil
programs are getting more and more sophisticated. They
are now even in ActiveX contents downloaded from the
web. This diversity of the adversaries make the
problem of detecting and preventing them more
difficult. Because an unpermitted number does not have
to be dialed by a known program or even by a program.
Your children or workers may try to make something
which may require a costly long distance call in which
case no Spyware or Anti-Virus program can detect
misuse.
To get rid of these problems, we present a new agent
ModemWall; a dialing number filtering system for
Windows 2000/XP(or later) operating systems. It is the
first and the only rule based number blockage tool
available in the market.
ModemWall cuts off the problem at the source : Prevent
dialing unauthorized numbers regardless of the dialer
which/who is trying to dial.
