Babala for Linux - Version 0.4.0 Babala is a fun and fanciful game suitable for allages. You fend off the enemy muggers (they can't shoot)on a basic grid, amid obstacles and booby traps. Thegame's defining features are mercifully simple butdon't be fooled, because it gets tough as nails to beatas the levels progress. It's all in the campaigndesigns. A worthwhile scoring system is employed andrecord high scores can be uploaded for display atBabala.org. There are 200 discrete levels, the first 10being a tutorial. Gameplay is strictly at your ownpace, it's never a test of reflexes. This is a simple Logic/Strategy round-based war game ofsorts, not lacking in cute animations. The enemy arearrayed on the field; intently, they dog your everyturn. You'll have only limited moves and shots todeploy during your each round, 6 or 7 tops: choose asyou go from a set of 5 maximal trade-offs. Your shotsare either projectile or mine, assuming you're soarmed. Following your strokes, the enemy makes ameasured advance. If he reaches you, you're mugged, youlose. There may be obstructions and certain riggedperils, critically situated, or remote ammunitionstores that have to be acquired. Must be played to be appreciated: prodigious, oftendiabolical, never a shortage of variety and theunexpected. And there seems always a way to best anearlier score when you ambitiously replay a level.In-game help is in English, Czech or German, asspecified during installation. This download file, InstallBabala.sh, is a shell scriptthat installs self-contained compressed software files. It is removed with two easy "rm" commands.
