The program has been created as general program for
security hybrid platforms working concurrently with
wireless and wired Internet webcams, TV-boards,
capture cards, power-line, and USB cameras. It has
web interface with the same form and controls on the
local and remote computers. Users watch MPEG-4 coded
picture and have complete control of the software
through network that surveillance workstation can be
run without monitor, keyboard, and mouse connected.
Software`s modular composition extensively boosts
reliability because all parts proceed as autonomous
software. If one unit stops working, other components
keep on running. For instance if the `capture` unit
freezes, `watchdog` starts again it instantly that
users don`t notice anything because they are viewing
picture using a `playback` module. The software
does `repeated` recording that the `hard drive full`
situation never happens. The recording can be non-
stop or it can be triggered by activity, human face
detection, or by calendar. The software has pre-
alarm and post-alarm recording. Playing back recorded
video is pretty simple and performs on the
surveillance server as well as on apart workstation
via Web interface. The software does synchronized
video playback for event analysis from many cameras
at the same time. Also recorded files can be searched
by date, time or by face detected. All recorded data
can be encrypted and password protected.
