Split PST Files
-
Version
15.01
Earlier versions of MS Outlook (Outlook 2002 and 2003)
support ANSI character format and thus have a size
limit of up to 2 GB. On the other hand, later versions
of MS Outlook (Outlook 2007 and 2010) are based on
Unicode character format and the size limit extends up
to 10 GB. If these size limits are exceeded because of
overloading of emails and other items of the user
mailbox account, PST files may get corrupt. In such a
situation, users have to search for ways to reduce the
burden on PST files.
Microsoft offers a free utility known as the Truncation
Tool (PST2GB), which crops off the excess data from the
PST file and brings down the size to 2GB. But the
disadvantage of this tool is that important files and
folders may get deleted in the process of reducing the
size of PST file. Therefore, it is ideally recommended
to use Kernel for PST Split. Using this software, you
can perform comprehensive splitting operation in the
desired PST files.
This software offers different criteria on the basis of
which the splitting action can be performed. The
parameters are “Split PST files based on date”, “Split
PST files, based on email ID”, “Make single PST file
for every folder”, “Extract selected folder into a PST
file” and “Split PST file into multiple PST files”.
This split PST files software can comprehensively split
all the folders and items present in a user mailbox
account. Also, the tool can now be easily installed on
Windows 8/8.1 systems, and can be used to split PST
files of Outlook 2013.
Moreover, this split pst file tool is also capable of
preserving the metadata of the emails along with the
data structure and properties of the mailbox items.
Splitting PST files not only averts size limitation
error but also makes the data more manageable and
improves Outlook performance. For more information
