Processes consume system resources (memory, CPU, etc.)
and take away from speed and stability in the game. In
order to play games at their optimum level, the
computer should be running with only the minimum
required processes running. Before TAG, each
application had to be closed down manually or via
Ctrl+Alt+Del before you started to play your game. The
disadvantages to this is that it took time, a process
might be required to run on your system, and you
weren't always sure where to rerun the program you
killed after playing your game - the only solution was
to restart your computer to get everything back the
way it was.
Now, with TAG, you will automatically be shown which
processes TAG believes you can end without causing
adverse effects to your system. You can then check the
processes you want to close and TAG will unload and
remember them. It will keep them in a list so you can
reload them after you're done playing your game!
TAG is also great for any computer that you want to
eliminate unnecessary running processes. TAG can also
stop Windows 2000/XP services, so caution should be
exercised when stopping any task or process you are
unfamiliar with.
