iChat, along with typing messages to people,allows you to show your emotions, (Happy, Sad etc..) and generate events on the other person's computer, such as laughing, along with a happy face to show what you really want to say. iChat is very easy to set-up and to use. It has its own Install/Uninstall program bundled with it, and comes with many example sounds and faces. You can, of course add your own events and messages. iChat can be fully customised, and keeps your settings for next time. An extension to Cintel NGEn, called iMail lets you send files easily to, not only the person you're talking to, but anyone with iChat, while still conducting a real-time conversation.
