Dir Prudence is a Win32 utility for comparing drives,
folders and files, either on the same computer or
across a network. The program can be configured to
look for a wide range of differences. Comparison
results can be saved automatically in a log file, or
as required. Dir Prudence requires very little memory
and disk space. It is designed primarily for verifying
CD backups of data, but it will compare files and
directories on any drive visible to Windows.
Dir Prudence supports command line parameters, so it
can be run from a Windows shortcut or a batch file
with predetermined settings. It can be configured to
automatically run a comparison and shut itself down,
making it a potentially useful verification tool for
unattended scheduled backups. Comprehensive context-
sensitive on-line help is included.
