SearchMaestro is a powerful and robust file search
tool and file content modifier. You can save and
load your search parameters, and save your results to
XML or CSV file format. You can view, find and
replace the content of your files using easy or
pattern matching, or simply by typing in the new
content that you require. A comprehensive but easy
to use ActiveX COM interface allows you to create
scripting files for repeated use and scheduling. Two
VBScript examples are included.
SearchMaestro is also tuned to the way you search,
automatically saving all the files and folders that
you have selected to search within. So after the
first search you save time because a complete file
list has already been created; SearchMaestro only
needs to check each file and folder against the
search parameters you have specified. You can add
files and folders into SearchMaestro just by dropping
them onto the SearchMaestro shortcut.
Every returned file can have its contents viewed and
modified quickly and easily. To do this, just add
them to SearchMaestro and hit 'Search'. The files
will show in the Results box, and can then be opened
with the Content Viewer and quickly altered with only
a few clicks. This means that many files can be
altered within a very short space of time using the
Find What and Replace With boxes. Found and replaced
items are coloured and highlighted for easier
viewing.
The ActiveX COM interface builds upon the
functionality in the graphical user interface. For
example, the find and replace functionality allows
you to retrieve detailed file information in an easy
to understand format. You can save the results and
parameters, and search each file's contents.
Naturally, you can also replace the contents or copy
them to another file, file by file. This powerful
interface isn't just limited to file contents, it can
help you to find and replace within any text you
specify.
