Regrecover - Version 1.4 Regrecover exports data from corrupt NT based registryfiles. It is specially designed for strongly damagedregistry files as an alternate to RegdatXP, anothersoftware by the same author. Regrecover uses acompletely different approach than RegdatXP. Itlinearly reads all registry cells right after opening afile, and then tries to rebuild the structure.Typically, Regrecover should be applied to files forwhich RegdatXP just displays a single key not havingany subkeys, or when RegdatXP even refuses to open afile saying it's an invalid registry file. The formerusually means that the information about where thesubkeys of the root cell are located has beendestroyed, thus making it necessary to scan the entirefile for possible subkeys. For larger files the scanprocess can take several minutes, and at least 512 MBRam are recommended. The full version can export all recovered data into aWin9x/NT4 registration file, or into a new, non-corruptregistry hive, which in best case can be used as areplacement for the original corrupted file.
